BILLIE JEAN KING CUP: SLOVENSKO - TALIANSKO 14 Apr 2023 - 15 Apr 2023

A lot will be at stake in the April meeting of the Slovak national team in the Billie Jean King Cup against Italy. In the NTC arena on April 14-15, 2023, it will be decided which of the teams will advance to the BJKC final tournament.

This duel will be a challenge for the team of captain Matej Lipták, they would certainly like to present themselves in the third place at the final tournament. Lipták will rely on proven players. Anna Karolína Schmiedlová, the current Slovak unit, should be at the head of the team. She should be complemented by Viktória Kužmová, Rebecca Šramková, young Renáta Jamrichová and doubles specialist Tereza Mihalíková.

The Italian women have a strong team, they have five players in the top 100 in the world. The highest among them is currently Martina Trevisanová, well-known to Slovak fans is Camila Giorgiová. The team captain is former professional player Tathiana Garbinová. In the current ranking of countries in the Billie Jean King Cup, Slovakia is ranked 8th, Italy is three positions lower.
