HIP HOP ŽIJE BRATISLAVA 2023 30 Jun 2023 - 1 Jul 2023

When we first organized the Hip Hop Žije festival, Separ was enjoying a meteoric rise thanks to the Bulldozer project, and Majk Spirit was flying in the clouds with the album Nový Čudk. Rytmus and Ego were just preparing the album Forever, which to this day is considered by music critics to be the best Czechoslovak rap project in history, and most representatives of the new wave had no idea that it would dominate the scene today.

We have run a demanding marathon together since 2013, and the sun did not always shine over the Hip Hop Žije festival. And literally. We were not put down by storms, bombs or bitten tongues. We persevered despite the pandemic and the economic crisis. Thanks to you - our amazing fans - today we can be proud of the title of the biggest Czechoslovak rap festival.

We are endlessly grateful that the idea of a single-genre community event has turned into a spectacular multi-genre festival series in ten years. Although the biggest names in world rap took turns on the stages of Hip Hop Žije in Bratislava, we gradually realized that we want to bring you music almost to your windows. That's why we started traveling with the festival and established ourselves in all corners of Slovakia and beyond.

Every year, Hip Hop Lives and now also Music Lives are a thoughtful report on the state of music culture in Slovakia, and it will not be any different in 2023 either.
